To Clean the kitchen floor

Due to the type of activities taking place in the kitchen, usually the floor is fairly soiled and accumulates debris grease. Thus the type of material for the floor that we choose must be practical and easy to clean. Always, tile is better wood.

The first thing to do is to sweep or to vacuum. Normally, we have to sweep the floor several times during the day, but it is advisable to vacuum the kitchen floor once or twice a week. After having swept or vacuumed, we mopped it with hot water and a splash of ammonia. Normally, the floor should be mopped daily. We can use small carpets or mats, under certain areas, for example in front of the area where we cook.  These can help take care of the floor and keep it clean for longer period.  Be careful with some kitchen floors (eg Glazed) which maybe sensitive to lye or ammonia.  For these cases, it will be better to use a soft dishwasher soap.  Periodically we clean the borders of the tiles, where residues stay and turn dark.  Use a brush with kitchen detergent.
