The curtains in the bathrooms, if made of plastic, can be washed with a brush dipped in pure ammonia, and rinse well. This operation must be done very carefully.
If made of waterproof fabric, you can do the same or get into the washing machine along with a large towel, giving the final rinse with a little ammonia. Don’t wring, and let dry them hunging in the bathroom.
